I found the words to "His Eye is on the Sparrow" that I refered to in my other post of the day. I hope they are comforting to you, too, in this turbulent time in our country.
Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
“Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

OK...I love that song Beesh! The first time I heard it was at church when I was about six years old. A singing group called "The Spurr Family" was visiting our church (oh you KNOW they carried out that play on words! They were dressed in full Western regalia...sort of looked out of place in our small northern town, lol). Mom bought their album and I listened to that song on the hi-fi (yeah baby! child of the '70s) over and over.
I'm going to read the lyrics you posted again--and this time I'm going to add a Spurr family twang *wink*.
(((hugs)))
